We love food. Probably more than we should.
Much of what I do centers around food. From the meals on our table to the milk in our morning coffee.
Simplicity is more than just slowing down. It’s about simplifying our relationship to the world around us. We believe strongly in knowing our food. Weather than means knowing the farmer we buy from or growing it ourselves.
We gravitate towards food prepared simply and healthfully. From fresh salads to tacos, it is almost entirely homemade. This is time consuming. It may seem romantic to make bread, but it takes time and planning.
With both nerve and inflammatory pain conditions, the need for both appliances to assist me (bread machine etc) and the unprocessed food they allow me to make are vital. For years, I made bread entirely by hand. Now, with the expanding of my physical tasks, I have to get help where I can.
The more we try to simplify our lives, the more complex they really become.
But, the food tastes so good.
